One of my favourite approaches to losing weight is reducing carbohydrate consumption. Carbohydrates are known as a source of energy, but when consumed in higher amounts than necessary, they are stored as fat in the body. This stored fat can be used as fuel in the future. To begin utilising this stored “fuel,” it is necessary to consume fewer carbohydrates and increase intake of proteins and fibre.
Here you have a recipe for one of my favourite dishes which is a healthy and versatile alternative to traditional rice, and it is also very easy to make
CAULIFLOWER RICE
Ingredients:
- 1 head of cauliflower
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instruction:
- Rinse the cauliflower and pat it dry with a paper towel.
- Cut the cauliflower into florets and remove the stem and leaves.
- Using a food processor, pulse the cauliflower florets until they resemble rice grains.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the cauliflower rice to the skillet and stir to coat it with the oil.
- Cook the cauliflower rice for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it’s tender but still slightlycrisp.
- Season the cauliflower rice with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the cauliflower rice as a side dish, or use it as a base for stir-fries, salads, or other dishes
Cauliflower rice is significantly lower in calories and contains fewer carbohydrates compared to rice, making it a suitable option for those looking to reduce calorie intake or manage their weight.
It is rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, including vitamin C, vitamin K, and folate. Cauliflower rice can be seasoned and flavoured in various ways, making it a versatile
option for different dishes, from stir-fries to casseroles. It is Keto friendly, vegan and gluten free, and very beneficial for your health
